Monica
Salon Owner & Lived in Colour Specialist
Meet Monica — the founder of Nuku and the creative force behind its signature coastal colour vibe.
With 14 years in the hair industry, Monica’s journey took her all the way to Australia’s east coast, where she fell in love with the beachy, sun-kissed tones that now define her work here in Kent. Her vision for Nuku was to build a calm, unique spacewhere like-minded creatives could work alongside each other, sharing good energy and great hair. Known for her effortless, lived-in colour and eye for detail, Monica is now sharing her knowledge through intimate education workshops, helping other stylists grow their confidence and master the art of coastal, blended colour.
Charley
Senior Colourist & Beautician
Meet Charley — our stylist, beautician, and Monica’s baby sis (how lucky are they to work together?!). From the very beginning, Charley has been part of the Nuku journey, starting out as our junior and growing into a talented stylist with a love for all things lived-in and beachy. She’s known for her soft, blended colours, killer head massages, and the bounciest blow-dries around. Alongside hair, Charley also offers a gorgeous range of beauty treatments, bringing her calm, friendly energy to everything she does. She truly embodies the relaxed, coastal vibe that makes Nuku what it is.
Blinera
Junior Colourist & Lash Technician
Blinera has been a qualified stylist since summer 2025 and is already making waves with her confident, beautifully blended lived-in colours. After assisting Monica for over a year, she has truly absorbed every tiny detail of the craft and is now producing results far beyond her experience. Blinera especially loves working with curly hair, enhancing natural brunettes, and creating seamless blonde balayages. She has also recently completed her lash extension training and is a natural at delivering effortless, radiant beauty. With big dreams of one day working on movie sets or fashion runways, travelling abroad, and opening her own salon, Blinera is definitely one to watch – go check out her Instagram and follow her journey!
Jess
Jess has been in the salon world since she was 14 and has spent the last five years on the salon floor perfecting her craft. From competing in the L'Oreal Cloud Trohy. to assisting on photoshoots — including Vogue Portugal — she’s had some incredible experiences. But at the heart of it all, creating beautiful, natural, lived-in hair that makes her clients feel effortlessly themselves is what she loves most.
When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll probably find Jess chasing sunshine and booking her next holiday, on a ski slope somewhere, or talking non-stop about dogs (seriously… she will chew your ears off 🐶).
Big dreams? Always. One day, Jess will open her own salon and have a gorgeous house with loads of land — mainly so she can finally get a Highland cow. Priorities.
